  • Opens 100% owned subsidiaries in US and Canada

  • RMSI demerges with parent company Risk Management Solutions, Inc. USA. Becomes an independent management owned company

  • Launches SpatialVue – proprietary Enterprise WebGIS platform developed using OGC standards

  • Awarded over US$ 20 Million contract from HCL Infosystems for providing GIS services for Government of India's largest ever power reform project – Restructured Accelerated Power Development and Reforms (RAPDRP), for the state of Rajasthan
  • Completes the largest Digital Mapping Project in Ireland, for the Property Registration Authority of Ireland, involving over 2.8 Million land parcels
  • Enters into strategic partnership with L&T Automation for provision of GIS services for RAPDRP project in Maharashtra, India

      • UNDP partners with RMSI to develop a disaster risk profile for Maldives


  • RMSI spotlighted in the Dataquest IDC India's Top 20 Best Indian IT Employers survey for the third years in a row, since 2003. This year it was listed in the 4-star category, giving it a 4th to 7th position ranking
  • RMSI and Oracle ink spatial partnership and RMSI forms a Core Technology Group to focus on the Oracle 10g suite of technology, with special emphasis on Oracle 10g Spatial
  • RMSI and its consortium partners Landmark Solutions, UK, and Proteus Solutions Ltd, Cork and Dublin Ireland win a five-year data capture-mapping contract, with the Land Registry in Ireland
  • Sport England project ranked 4th in the 2005 Geospatial Solutions Application contest conducted by Geospatial Solutions magazine
  • LAVASA Corporation Limited, a company set up for the purpose of developing a hill station lake city township in India commissions RMSI to design and develop its Geo Spatial Infrastructure

  • RMS sells its stake in RMSI to DMG Information

  • RMSI acquires a third office building on lease in NOIDA


  • DMGI places its nominee on the board of directors of RMSI
  • RMSI moves into its own state-of-the-art office premises at NOIDA, a suburb of New Delhi
  • Neerja Verma joins the company as the head of the HRD and Personnel division
  • RMSI enters into a partnership with Landmark Information Group, UK, to provide GIS products and services to the UK market
  • RMSI enters the Dataquest list of Top 200 IT firms in India for the first time
  • Emphasis on software development business is increased and many new projects are won from RMS and external clients including Internet start-ups
  • Risk Engineering Group is awarded its first major independent project from Japan


  • ESRI South Asia and Digital Equipment Asia Pacific award a large contract in Singapore, to develop a GIS software application
  • RMS is acquired by DMG Information (DMGI) and becomes part of the Daily Mail and General Trust, one of the UK's largest listed companies
  • RMSI crosses the 500-employee mark
  • RMSI buys a building and an adjoining plot of land in NOIDA, a suburb of New Delhi


  • RMSI crosses the US$ 1 million annual revenue mark for the first time in its history, and crosses the 200-employee mark
  • RMS acquires a majority stake in RMSI
  • RMSI enters into a long-term partnership with OYO Corporation, one of Japan's largest geo-technical engineering consulting companies
  • Rajiv Kapoor joins the company as Finance Director
  • Second office is opened in Hyderabad in southern India


  • RMSI crosses the 100-employee mark
  • First dedicated lease-line between RMSI and RMS is established
  • First international order received for geodata for wireless network planning
  • HRD and Personnel division is established


  • A new division called Risk Engineering Group is started, which works closely on natural hazard risk analysis activities with RMS
  • RMSI receives its first orders for digital map data for wireless network planning in India from international equipment supplier Ericsson


  • Awarded first large, non-RMS, GIS order (over US$ 3 million) by GE Capital
  • Business re-engineered into two separates entities, the GIS and Software divisions
  • Work begins on first GIS software project awarded by a US government agency


  • RMSI is founded on January 13th in a basement space in New Delhi, India by Ajay Lavakare and Premal Mehta as a joint venture with Risk Management Software, Inc. (RMS), Mountain View, CA, USA
  • Operations begin on October 1st
  • The first year revenues are approximately US$ 10,000
  • The company has 2 directors and 2 employees


  • Several small offshore projects executed for RMS including digitization of hazard maps, preparation of GIS databases and development of software algorithms.


  • Three Stanford University graduate students, Ajay Lavakare, Hemant Shah and Premal Mehta, develop the business plan for RMSI in Palo Alto, in the month of March
  • The vision is to create a joint-venture company based out of India, with a niche in integrated Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and software solutions for risk analysis and risk management
