RMSI and Oracle Ink Spatial Partnership
NEWARK CA, April 5, 2005:
RMSI, a leading global IT services company
with offices in the United States, United Kingdom,
and India, has joined the Oracle PartnerNetwork
(OPN) as an Independent Spatial Systems Consultant,
and as an international Member Partner with Oracle.
Oracle’s PartnerNetwork is a worldwide business
platform composed of companies delivering innovative
enterprise software solutions based on Oracle
software. The partnership agreement formalizes
an established collaborative relationship between
Oracle and RMSI dating to the late 90s. “RMSI
already has a proven track record in implementing
enterprise class solutions for a prestigious list
of global clients using Oracle technology. Partnering
with Oracle further compliments RMSI’s focus
on building world-class solutions for our clients,”
says Puneet Sharma, General Manager (Software),
RMSI.
In related news, RMSI announces the formation
of a Core Technology Group (CTG) within the company
to focus on the Oracle 10g suite of technology,
with special emphasis on Oracle 10g Spatial. The
Group has begun rolling out highly competitive
solutions that RMSI spokespersons describe as
having enhanced quality at reduced cost.
In just one of many Core Technology Group (CTG)
initiatives, RMSI has launched the phase-I set
of its web services for webGIS. These services
are based on Oracle database and mapping libraries
and have been constructed as ready-to-use and
easy-to-deploy sets of functionalities. This launch
marks RMSI's first re-usable framework, which
is intended to be increasingly used in future
projects based on Oracle technologies.
Frameworks are reusable 'semi-complete' applications
that can be applied to produce custom applications.
These are tested, proven software designs and
implementations, which reduce the cost and accelerate
development speed and improve the overall quality
of the software. RMSI's web services are standards
based and represent a new platform on which developers
can build the same distributed applications they've
always built, but this time with interoperability
as the highest priority.
RMSI figures in the list of 20 companies mentioned
on the Oracle Partner website. More details on
