RMSI Qualifies as a Finalist
in the IM 2004 Awards in the Content Management
Category
London UK, Nov 08, 2004: RMSI, a global IT services
company, owned by the Daily Mail Group, announced
today that they along with Northcliffe Electronic
Publishing (NEP), UK have qualified as a finalist
in the ‘Content Management’ category
of the IM 2004 Awards for the project, ‘Integrated
Content Management Solution of Over 20 Regional
Portals.’
RMSI developed an integrated content management
solution to enable Northcliffe Electronic Publishing
to successfully rollout 26 local web portals under
the ‘This is’ brand. The solution
involved development of custom applications, enhancement
and feature extensions, personalization, and capacity
planning to scale existing infrastructure capacity
for increased usage on the “This is”
portals. RMSI through its highly focused and mature
partner centric approach enabled NEP to increase
customer base; improve customer service; get to
market faster and achieve top-line goals.
Commenting on the Award nomination, Manav Sehgal,
Director Business Development, RMSI Limited says,
“There are two important lessons learnt
from this project. Firstly, organisations with
complex content management requirements can benefit
increasingly by employing bespoke content management
solutions instead of tying down to a particular
CMS product. When flexibly gets aligned with business
goals and strategy, a custom-built content management
solution can deliver far more agility, control,
cost-effectiveness, and ultimately significant
competitive differentiation in the long term.
Secondly, with this multi-year engagement, which
involved a range of services including software
application outsourcing, white labeled technical
helpdesk provisioning, large scale database management
and strategic internal staff augmentation, RMSI
has once again proven that strategic outsourcing
goes beyond just cost cutting.”
The ‘Content Management Project Award’
is given for the most innovative and successful
content management project, involving various
aspects of web content management or applications
of document management software. The ‘Content
Management Project Award’ is being supported
by AIIM International. Enterprise Information
magazine (formerly Content Management Focus magazine)
is the media partner.
RMSI along with Landmark Information Group, and
Sport England have qualified as a finalist in
the GIS category for the ‘Active Places’
project.
