Better Defined Processes
RMSI applies the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Software Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 5 as a day-to-day framework for software-development process improvement. CMMI is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with effective processes across a project, a division, or an entire organization. At RMSI, the use of CMMI enables better manageability of complex projects, improved management information supported by quantitative data, and alignment of various operational activities with RMSI's strategic goals.
Knowledge and Skill Development
RMSI uses regular technical and domain-based training to re-invest in its announced most valuable resource- the human resource. Special emphasis is placed on building the competency of various teams to fully deliver or over-deliver on a project's expectations. Optimum and Scalable Infrastructure
RMSI knows from experience that when scaling up for very large projects, there is a potential threat that the additional capacity built for specific projects may not be required when a project concludes. RMSI strives to strike the business-wise balance between developing the additional infrastructure requirements in-house, and leasing from external vendors.
Recent large data processing projects from two big clients are a good example of optimum and scalable infrastructure. With these projects, there was a need to scale up the project teams by 700 persons. This called for additional infrastructure requirements, human resources, and additional technical training. Developed internally, RMSI explored multiple locations for setting-up the new facility. After weighing factors such as the availability of human resources, cost of living and proximity to Delhi, RMSI selected Dehradun, city165 miles northeast of Delhi. The new facility was up and running in two months time, and the office now houses close to 400 technicians. |

Resources - 50% of the human talent required was hired on company rolls and the remaining 50% became contracted staff with an option to renew their contracts every six month. |

Technical Training - The operations team developed extensive training modules for the new hires for knowledge dissemination. Furthermore, key technical staff was deployed to the Dehradun office to build new teams, conduct on-the-job training and maintain quality and delivery commitments. |
Stringent Quality Control and Assurance
RMSI views quality as an integral part of each aspect of its day-to-day functioning and believes that quality can be best achieved by preventing errors throughout the project lifecycle. This is achieved by building an effective Quality Management System (QMS) that can generate quality benchmarks. Quality Assurance (QA) division certifies all data and products shipped to the client as final deliverables. The processes through which RMSI transacts business comply with internationally recognized quality standards such as CMMI level 5 and ISO 27001.
