Meet us at the 2018 Understanding Risk Forum

RMSI is delighted to partner for the Understanding Risk Forum 2018. Join us from May 14-18, 2018 in Mexico City, Mexico at the stunning Palacio de Minería for the fifth global UR forum. The first two days are dedicated to side events, and the following three days (May 16 – 18) make up the main conference.

Globally, increasing instances of hydro-meteorological events being impacted by climate change cause enormous loss of life and property. Sophisticated technology driven numerical models are considered today as an essential tool for real-time prediction of extreme events (in terms of extent and intensity) along with estimation of economic losses. This would be a crucial input to governments and disaster authorities during emergencies, to reduce the impacts of these extreme events to a large extent. Hence, numerical models along with high-speed computers and advanced satellite technology can offer a robust approach to ‘evaluate’ and ‘quantify’ risk.
