As a pioneer in geospatial services, RMSI recently co-sponsored the Geospatial World Forum at Rotterdam, Netherlands from 13-16th May, 2024. GWF is one of the largest global geospatial community events, gathering geospatial professionals and leaders representing the entire ecosystem of public policies, national mapping agencies, space agencies, private sector enterprises, multilateral and development organizations, scientific and academic institutions, and large end-users from government businesses and citizen services. It is best known for its futuristic themes, engaging content, top-level attendees, and valuable networking opportunities. This year’s event had over 1200+ Delegates, 550+ Organizations, 80+ Countries, 50+ Exhibitors, and 50+ Sponsors & Partners.

This year’s theme for the event – is “Geospatial Transition: Powering the World Economy,” the event explored various facets of the ongoing transition of the geospatial industry and its existing and potential value in the world economy.

Day 1 began on an energetic note with the India Europe Space and Geospatial Business Summit. RMSI CEO Anup Jindal and other leading technology leaders and national mapping agencies were invited to delve into the topic: Collaborative Opportunities for National Mapping Agencies. The group explored multifaceted partnerships and innovations between India and Europe.

Anup Jindal, CEO, RMSI said, “We see a mix of innovation and capacity as the dire need currently. We are talking about self-healing world, wherein ideally, the maps around the world would keep on updating themselves as fast the world is changing which is a big challenge for mapping agencies and the private sector.”

“The second we see is interoperability. There are so many organizations and companies that are working on similar things. If there was a way for more standardization, it would translate into wider availability of resources for innovation and newer applications.”

“The third is the integration of new age technologies. There is a lot of talk about AI, ML, new sensors and different types of data, how do we bring this into the whole production workflow.

RMSI also showcased its specialized services for the UK and European markets at its booth in the exhibition pavilion. The booth garnered many visitors where RMSI representatives met clients and prospects across industries.

The RMSI booth echoed with compelling discussions, collaborative networking, and a shared passion for transforming experiences.

Day 2 brought an important plenary on “Image Intelligence and Geospatial Solutions: Powering ESG and Next Generation Economy” where Anup Jindal, CEO, RMSI, was invited along with other global leaders to share his thoughts.

Anup Jindal, CEO, RMSI: What we see in the developing countries while working with some of the poorest communities around the world, is the likely impact on livelihood because the crops that are being sown now won’t be viable in the future. These communities are at increasing risk because of natural disasters and their poverty cycle is crippling.

We bring in the practices of combining geospatial and earth observation data with analytics and then modeling it to form actionable insights which are then merged with groundwork to address these problems. These are some of the areas that we are trying to address through our services and offerings in all of these communities.

A Utilities Summit was held on Day 3, where RMSI’s utility expert, Raghu Babu Challagulla, VP Geospatial, presented his opening remarks to begin the summit and shared insights on “Way Forward – Geospatial Innovation: Corporates Shaping the Transition in Utilities Sector.

As we wrapped up the week at the Geospatial World Forum in Rotterdam, we engaged in some great panels, collaborated with our partners and clients, and heard from the industry how businesses are transitioning to geospatial technology. RMSI offers services across the entire GIS value chain and supports customer transformation, making it one of the world’s leading providers of map data development, maintenance, and enhancement services.
