Business Modernization & Cost Saving With Computer Vision

By Parth Cholera, Published on: 16th September 2022

Our last blog was about computer vision, how it works, challenges faced by the business, and its applications. This blog will Talk about how businesses can equip themself with computer vision capabilities and how RMSI enables industries in their digital transformation journey.

RMSI helps businesses in designing, developing & implementing – Artificial Intelligence Techniques, i.e., Computer Vision, and offers a wide range of capabilities, including solutions that help in documents, images & video processing techniques.

What are we doing in the Computer Vision space?

RMSI supports a wide spectrum of capabilities and applications for computer vision. Some of them are listed below –

Text Detection – Extraction / Optical character recognition (OCR) – OCR is an automated form that can identify letters and numbers in documents, such as purchase bills, receipts, etc. It is used to capture and label the text in any image or video and can be done manually or automated.

Facial recognition – Plotting characteristics in the data, such as eyes, mouth, forehead, and nose, in an image used for facial recognition.

Motion detection / Object tracking – This helps label and track an object’s movement across more than one frame of video / multiple images in a series.

Classification & segmentation

  • Semantic Segmentation – It is an aspect of image processing & computer vision process used for locating objects and boundaries defined in the real world as two-dimensional functions.
  • Masking – This applies to semantic & instance segmentation (mostly) to conceal areas in an image and reveal other areas of interest, making it easier to focus on certain areas of an image over other areas.

Object detection and identification: Annotation and Labelling – Object detection/identification is a technique used to identify and locate objects in an image or video and derive meaningful insights.

Common annotation and labeling techniques include bounding boxes, 3D cuboids, keypoint annotation, polygon, polylines, and geo-annotation.

RMSI’s Computer Vision Solution Highlights

RMSI has designed and developed advanced documents, images, and video analysis solutions powered by AI/ML technique – Computer Vision. From digitizing paper-based processes to automating & giving meaning to image/text/doc/video surveillance, RMSI AI-powered solutions deliver the highest quality, accuracy, and scalability. Our unique solutions combining human annotators and AI-enabled tools are built to solve a wide range of industry use cases, bring innovation, improve business performance, and derive revenue growth.

Why use this solution?

In the above sections, we saw how computer vision benefits all industries to achieve their goals & reduce their manual, repetitive, and mundane tasks. Below are some of the key reasons why you should deploy the solution within organizations:

  • No special equipment or infrastructure is required
  • Easy to use application, which can be used from anywhere
  • Supports client-specific customized solutions
  • Smart AI eye, which human eye can’t detect
  • Beneficial for an organization as it improves efficiency and reduces the cost
  • Simple, faster & accurate process (>=95% – accurate in identification & validation/QA checks)
  • 95% 1st time right identification / resolution rate
  • 85%  reduction in manual work
  • 20%  increase in revenue through optimizing costs

Our approach to delivering the solution

The road ahead

Post COVID-19, there has been an exponential growth in the Telecommunication, Utility & nearby industries, and there is a huge increase in demands for 5G, IoT, Digital Twin, ARVR, Broadband, Wireless & Wired solutions, etc. – which has triggered the need for Smart Automation.

RMSI is closely working with CSPs to dramatically accelerate the development of customized Computer Vision applications for their 5G, IoT, or any other kind of rollout within the network. It also reduces the operational burden and manual work and improves customer & operational efficiency with cost savings.

Stay tuned for our upcoming blogs in this series to know more about Computer Vision techniques, how they can help industries achieve their goals, and what use cases are possible across Industries.
